Welcome to Cognitively Intact

Hi, I’m Lauren. I’m cognitively intact enough to write this newsletter, and I have the time to do it because I’m not physically intact enough to keep up with a full-time day job.

Before catching COVID-19, I was an organizational change consultant in my late 30s. COVID led to myocarditis, sudden cardiac arrest, and worsened a well-controlled seizure disorder. The next few months felt anything but “intact.”

Now I’m asking: What kicks in when science leaves you hanging?
