Interview with the 2 Lives Podcast
Laurel Morales asks me the tough questions about how a medical disaster helped me find connection with other people, and with the small things.
2 Lives is one of my favorite podcasts. I love losing myself in the stories of others—how they overcome the hurdles they face, learn from their toughest experiences, and go new places they never even imagined in their “first lives.”
A lot of us feel that we have two lives, one before and one after a significant moment. I take a weird pride in the fact that my breaking point was more literal than most. My independent life technically ended when my heart stopped beating on February 7, 2023. If you’ve been following this Substack, you know the story of what happened since. 2 Lives sheds more light on what sort of person I was in my first life, and why I take the particular lessons I do from my health crises.
